Catalyst Conference North America 2009
DENVER–Ping Identity® will participate in this year’s Burton Catalyst interoperability demo, showing how its PingConnect™ on-demand Single Sign-On (SSO) service acts as a single integration point with Google Apps, Active Directory and virtually any other identity provider system to deliver a universal Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) login that ties together different SaaS environments by managing user access and authentication in the cloud. Users can now login once at their primary identity domain, then directly access their other SaaS applications by simply clicking a link. No further authentication is required and login failures and password resets are minimized.
The Burton Group’s Single Sign-On (SSO) Interoperability Demo: SSO for Cloud-based Applications takes place Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Catalyst Conference North America 2009 in San Diego, CA. The event will focus on hosted, SaaS or cloud-based applications, illustrating how standards such as SAML, WS-Federation, OpenID, and others can be utilized to overcome password requirements for every cloud-based application. Participants in the demo represent a broad range of technology providers, SaaS application providers, Internet properties, and social software sites.
Event: Burton Group Single Sign-On Interoperability Demo: SSO for Cloud-based Applications
Date/Time: 6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. PDT, Wednesday, July 29, 2009
Demonstration Details: Demo participants fall into two categories of contributors: identity providers and SaaS providers (service providers). Identity providers will provision new users, authenticate users requesting access and facilitate Single Sign-On (SSO) connectivity via the SAML, WS-Federation or OpenID protocols. Ping Identity will participate in both categories.
Ping Identity will demonstrate three main capabilities: SaaS SSO, SaaS user account management, and support for both enterprise and SaaS-based user authentication. For SaaS SSO, Ping Identity will demonstrate interoperability with Salesforce CRM, Google Apps, WebEx, Burton, eXpresso, PivotLink, FuGen, and Exostar. For SaaS account management, Ping Identity will demonstrate how by using PingConnect, user account data stored in Active Directory can be synchronized with Salesforce CRM and Google Apps, automating “create,” “update,” and “disable” operations.
For user authentication, Ping Identity will demonstrate how a user can authenticate to PingConnect via SAML from an enterprise federation solution such as those offered by CA, Sun or Microsoft; and then gain access to SaaS applications via PingConnect. Ping Identity will also demonstrate authentication via Windows Kerberos, or authentication via OpenID from Google Apps to gain access to the same SaaS applications. All of this will be configured with a single instance of PingConnect, highlighting the flexibility of the solution and Ping Identity’s commitment to developing solutions that work with your existing system without requiring directory replication in the cloud.
Renowned for in-depth discussion of substantive IT issues, Catalyst brings together over 2,000 attendees from Fortune 500 and Global 2,000 companies to learn about and discuss significant technology topics and complex issues facing enterprise IT organizations. This year, Cloud Computing, Identity Management, and SOA are among the eight educational tracks on technologies that are transforming the future of enterprise IT.
Burton Catalyst attendees are also invited to join THE Ping Party, starting at 9:31 p.m. PST, July 29th, at the Altitude Sky Bar.
