Does anyone have bad experiences with their Managed Service Provider?
Here is an old joke, which I’ll post since it’s April Fool’s Day:
There once was a Managed Service Provider Salesman that had a product demos that could do all your CRM, Help Desk, and ERP solutions for a low monthly cost. Customizing and configuring it was easy. Even reports were a snap. Massive saving were to be had, which could lead to salary increases and bonuses.
One day that salesman died.
At purgatory, he was judged and given a choice.
Heaven was shown to him. It had jobs everywhere, people were smiling, and productive. Sometimes, even joking.
“Great,” he said, “I’ll choose heaven over hell” without checking out hell first.
As the doors of Heaven opened for him, the intense heat hit him and he was pulled in.
He stood before the Devil!
The salesman shouted at the Devil, “I thought this was Heaven? I was shown Heaven!”
The Devil laughed: “Ha ha, that was the demo, this is the real thing’.
Does this story sound familiar?
How many times have you been duped over a great sales pitch and demo? Only the final product was nowhere near to YOUR EXPECTATIONS.
Sales people are smart. They are trained. They know the right keywords to push your buttons. They have the right flow in their presentation to lure you in until it’s time for a “call to action”.
