ORLANDO, FL — LOTUSPHERE — iEnterprises, an IBM Premier Partner and global desktop and wireless customer relationship management (CRM) experts, today announced the availability of IBM Lotus Notes and Domino collaboration software applications on the Apple iPhone through its wireless application, Mobile Edge.
The announcement was made at Lotusphere, where iEnterprises is showcasing the mobile application in booth #717.
Mobile Edge for the iPhone is a turnkey solution that is ideal for business users who use the iPhone and Lotus Notes, helping them work smart and faster, wherever they happen to be. With Mobile Edge, iPhone users can now access and update their Lotus Notes business applications such as CRM software, helpdesk and salesforce automation right from their iPhones. Mobile Edge works with Lotus Domino 6.0 or higher including Domino 8.5.1, taking advantage of Web services and open standards by Lotus Domino. By connecting their existing Lotus Notes applications to their iPhone, users can get the most out of their Domino server, and benefit from a user-friendly and familiar Lotus Notes environment. There’s no need to learn new programs, and no additional coding or in-house development is required.
"As consumers, we download music and games on the iPhone, why not business applications that will help you collaborate, win deals and keep your customers happy?" said John Carini, CEO, iEnterprises. "You’re able to open the doors to your Lotus Notes applications, and take your information with you wherever you go. Now, you can keep aspects of your life at work and at leisure right on your iPhone. It means no more worrying about important calls or meetings, or scrambling for last-minute information left at the office."
Mobile Edge for Lotus Notes is built on the Mobile Edge platform. This platform allows Lotus Notes developers to configure and deploy Lotus Notes applications to iPhones and other smartphones without having to develop new phone optimized applications.
