Now this is something I can relate to.
I enjoy watching the reality TV show “Extreme Makeover – Home Edition” but I never gave it a second thought on how to organize all the volunteers who make the show.
Sure, the end result is a wonderful new home to a challenged family, but a lot of work and co-ordination goes behind the scenes, especially when it comes own to specialized professions in the construction industry.
I expected a lot of phone calls and a lot of email going out to Blackberries and iPhones, but now with the power of on-demand email marketing software solutions, anything is possible.
I’d like to see their Microsoft Project timelines! 3 cheers for being on time and on budget!
Homebuilder Selects ExactTarget to Power Communications for ‘Extreme Home Makeover’
Builder to Use Email, Text Messaging, Voice Messaging and Landing Pages to Keep Connected with Army of Volunteers Needed for Up-Coming Show
INDIANAPOLIS–Indianapolis homebuilder, The Estridge Companies, announced today it will use the power of ExactTarget’s on-demand email and messaging platform to communicate with the thousands of expected volunteers for its up-coming build with ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
Estridge, which announced today its plans to build a new home for a yet-to-be announced Indiana family for the Emmy-award winning reality show, will use ExactTarget’s software to register people to receive news alerts about the build and to send email and voice messages to volunteers reminding them of their up-coming shifts. The builder will also use ExactTarget’s text messaging capabilities to allow people visiting the build site to text in questions about Estridge or any of the products used on the build.
“Extreme Makeover is a terrific show that relies on the support of the community and its volunteers to make dreams come true. I’m absolutely thrilled we can provide our technology and support to ensure volunteers and community members are kept up-to-date on this historic endeavor,” said Scott Dorsey, chief executive officer of ExactTarget.
