Remember that project when I was asked to integrating and customize multiple databases, including a CRM, Support Call Center, and defect tracking (or bug tracking) software?
Well, if you use Firefox for your browser, GMail for your email, and SugarCRM, that pipe dream is now a reality. You can now track Gmail messages about specific features and bugs from within your defect tracking system.
DolceGMail is a Firefox add-on which integrates GMail with SugarCRM. You can now add contacts, emails and attachments to SugarCRM directly from GMail.
DolceGmail was built by developers at OpenLiven, a small IT services and development company in Italy that tracks customer contact using SugarCRM.
This history of this product came from OpenLiven, who had lots of customers using Gmail, so they built a plug-in connecting Firefox and Gmail APIs. By combining the two, they could keep track of all e-mails from a specific customers and relating to specific projects.
Sugarforge belongs to the Sugar Community Edition who freely distributes the open source edition of the SugarCRM software. It is a production-ready CRM system supported by both the Sugar Community and SugarCRM Inc., the company behind Sugar Community Edition and released under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
