As cloud storage vendors try to compete for your dollars and loyalty, the competition is getting higher, which means lower costs for the consumer.
Now that is good news!
The prices keep changing, so I made a quick chart of my favorite 4 services I use to store my data, namely Google Drive, Microsoft SkyDrive, DropBox and Box. I was amazed at the variance of prices.
All four of these vendors offer synchronization to your local folder, which to me is the greatest feature. It doesn’t matter which laptop, netbook or PC I am using, all my files gets synchronized throughout all my devices. I just grab and go. No USB memory sticks to worry about.
As we become selfish hogs with our data, and becoming the modern day digital “pack rack”, our file storage needs increase, thanks to higher megapixel and HD video from our cameras and smartphones!
If you look at the chart below, Microsoft SkyDrive is competing very closely to Google Drive. As a consumer, it just depends if you are a @hotmail user or a @gmail user.
Expect a price drop from DropBox very soon!
