Last October, Zoho offered single sign on for some of their products including Zoho Writer, Zoho Sheet, Zoho Show, Zoho Planner, Zoho Creator & Zoho Chat. This was great news if you had a Google Gmail or Yahoo! email account.

But the biggest application missing was Zoho CRM.

Yesterday, Zoho announced single sign on for their popular CRM package on their blog.

Apparently, this was not a “trivial fix”, as quoted from their blog, and the list of services are now up to 20, including Zoho Projects, Zoho Invoice and Zoho Meeting.

This is big news as it rivals Google Apps with their tight integration, especially with the Google Apps – Salesforce.com integration.

The ability to sign into various websites and services without having to maintain a different user name and credentials is gaining popularity in the web services industry. OpenID comes to mind, and more recently Ping Identity Announces PingConnect On-Demand Single Sign-on for SaaS Applications.

Overall, this is a smart move by Zoho to completely integrate their product line, but the true test will come when other 3rd party connectors work seamlessly.

Especially for a SMB company with an existing Microsoft Active Directory and wishes to connect to the Cloud for CRM, HR, or ERP services.
