Expanding Collaboration With Microsoft to Make CRM Application Available for Web Developers on the Windows Web App Gallery
CUPERTINO, Calif.–SugarCRM, a world leading provider of commercial open source customer relationship management (CRM) software, announced today the availability of Sugar Community Edition on the Microsoft Web Platform, a Microsoft framework for developing, deploying and hosting Web applications. Sugar Community Edition is available today for Web application developers as a free download at the Windows Web App Gallery site: http://www.microsoft.com/web/gallery/SugarCRM.aspx.
“The Microsoft Web Platform is about creating a strong ecosystem based on the principles of interoperability and rich Web application development,” said Lauren Cooney, group product manager at Microsoft Corp. “SugarCRM is a great addition to the Windows Web App Gallery and helps show how Microsoft tools, servers, and technologies can be used to support projects and communities on the Web.”
“More than 60 percent of SugarCRM installations worldwide run on the Windows platform today,” said Clint Oram, vice president of product management at SugarCRM. “Our customers are driving their revenue growth with SugarCRM deployed on top of mission-critical Microsoft Web Platform components such as Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) and Microsoft SQL Server. We invite developers in companies of all sizes to visit the Windows Web App Gallery and explore how to quickly expand their businesses with SugarCRM.”
Microsoft and SugarCRM began working together in 2006 when SugarCRM announced support for IIS as well as optimization for Active Directory® and SQL Server. The two companies have continued to collaborate as part of the Interop Vendor Alliance, http://interopvendoralliance.org.
The Microsoft Web Platform offers a complete ecosystem for building and hosting Web sites, services, and applications. The Microsoft Web Platform combines a rich and powerful Web application framework with a supporting cast of tools, servers, and technologies to help companies and individuals succeed on the Windows platform.
With a strong Windows user community, Sugar Community Edition has grown to be one of the most used CRM applications in the world due to its ease-of-use, open standards and ability to run across platforms. Sugar Community Edition is currently used by more than 55,000 companies and 600,000 users.
