Dreamforce 2009 Keynote Day 2 Notes from Underground [VIDEO] #DF09

The second keynote at Dreamforce 2009 was a continuation of Day 1, filling in the parts for the enterprise model of the 4 clouds. Yesterday’s keynote focused on the sales, service, and chatter collaboration, and today focused on the custom cloud.
It was primarily a show and tell session of vendors showing what can be accomplished with the various Salesforce platform with two special announcements.
BMC Software
BMC Software announced a strategic alliance to deliver BMC’s industry-leading IT management solutions on the Force.com platform
BMC Service Desk Express on Force.com will deliver cloud-enabled service desk, self-service and inventory management capabilities.
It is currently scheduled to be available in the second quarter of calendar year 2010.
CA, Inc. (NASDAQ: CA)
The other alliance was CA and Salesforce introducing CA Agile Planner on Force.com to help small businesses and enterprises accelerate development timelines. The CA Agile Planner is designed to build on Salesforce’s agile management expertise.
CA Agile Planner will be integrated with CA Clarity PPM, the leading project and portfolio management system with more than 250,000 users and at more than 1,000 enterprises worldwide.
According to reports, it is currently scheduled to be available in the first half of calendar year 2010.
