Interesting development here…
This video was added to YouTube on April 12, 2 days before the announcement. But April 12 was a Friday and the deal was announced on Monday April 14.
Other Interesting Tidbits
It is now reported that Salesforce made an offer to acquire Zoho before turning to Google.
According to Sridhar Vembu of Zoho, Salesforce.com founder Marc Benioff tried to acquire their company.
“He offered repeatedly to acquire Zoho outright, which we rejected”, quotes Vembu. We know that that deal didn’t happen and Salesforce went to the big guns.
Had this deal been made, Salesforce may have ended up competing with their new friend (Google) because Zoho suite includes almost everything that is offered in Google Apps.
