CRM Software for Small Business InfusionSoft Raises $7.9 Million
January 4, 2009 by Jimson Lee
InfusionSoft is a unique CRM package as it has a module for handling multi-tiered commission from affiliate products. They are better known for their CRM for Small Business, but their Affiliate/Referral Program Management is quite impressive.
If you wanted to sell a product, whether it’s a digital download or physical product, you should always leverage the power of Affiliates to sell your products for a commission.
If you are in the Affiliate marketing business, you’ve probably heard of 1ShoppingCart to allow others to sell your products. The two most important details are tracking clicks and tracking sales commissions. Of course, you want to help your sellers by providing banners and ad copy articles to help them sell. The more they sell for you, the more commission they make (and the more money you make!)
There are limitations to 1ShoppingCart, and there really wasn’t a good competitor until InfusionSoft.
You can create a multi-tiered affiliate structure to manage all of your affiliate needs. The Affiliate Resource Center allows your affiliates to login and view their commissions/referrals, setup tracking links and download information that will help them promote your products and sell more effectively.
The good news for InfusionSoft’s CRM Software for Small Business is they raised $7.9 Million last month.
From www.infusionblog.com
Arizona-based InfusionSoft, a company that makes cloud-based CRM software for small businesses, raised $7.9 million in a Series B round led by vSpring with participation from Mohr Davidow Ventures.
“In some ways we’re like a Salesforce.com or SugarCRM, but we’re focused on companies with fewer than 25 employees,” said CEO Clate Mask. The company has about 10,000 subscribers at 2,000 sites paying $59 per-user-per-month on a Software-as-a-Service model. The new cash will go mostly towards new marketing efforts, Clate says.

Got something to say?

Interesting to read what’s written above. Perhaps you’d like to clue us in as to the level of discount you were afforded by Infusionsoft to write this.
Having set up their package as well as worked with 1shoppingcart for a number of years, I can tell you the two are like night and day.
The ONLY thing recommending Infusionsoft above 1SC until recently was email scheduling. Not any longer. 1SC has implemented this. Not only that there are many ways to do it.
Another thing you can do with 1SC that you cannot with Infusionsoft is that they’ve actually done research into marketing and designed language for use instantly that does not turn the user off when they receive an email from the system.
The sad thing about Infusionsoft is that they’re blasting their brand out everywhere in every communication that you send out through their system (a bit of a desperate move) and charging you a fee if you want this removed.
When was the last time you tried to exceed 500K customers in an Infusionsoft account? Can’t be done. They create a new one for you so instantly there’s a disconnect in your business process. 1SC can scale to 1.5 million in a single account AND they offer a dedicated server program for clients. Not only does Infusionsoft NOT offer this, their people when presented with the opportunity to bid into such a circumstance did not even offer the courtesy of a phone call once they found out that 1SC was involved in the process.
I had a direct call with the CEO regarding their affiliate program and he admitted that it was not up to par. They were working on it, but what happened was they were getting slammed on pricing by 1SC so they dropped all their pricing to compete. However, what they did not do was release the limit on users, you only get 2. 1SC can allow multiple users, no restrictions on emailing and no pervasive 1SC branding in their autoresponder messages.
1SC does not pay me to say these things. I’ve used their product for the past 7 years and LOVE it. I’ve watched it grow, I’ve been with it through good and bad and now I am happy to see where they’ve gotten to.
If you’re serious about using a solid platform and you don’t want to kiss customers goodbye because your followup sequence of emails was written by a 3yr old…then get into 1ShoppingCart or better yet go to:

@Michael – You raise a few solid points.
Infusionsoft used to use their own software for Affiliates, but has since “outgrown” the system, and therefore now use Commission Junction.
I was shocked to see this.. what does it say about their own product?
